What makes me me?
I am passionate about enabling and empowering women and especially women in technology. Any opportunity I have to mentor ambitious, creative, clever, curious, younger women, I will jump at. Teaching and training are in my blood. I was a second-grade teacher before my life at Ungerboeck. I still read a lot about learning theory in my free time.
I love math. I love puzzles. I love formulas. I love data. I was a math minor in college. I think data informed decision making is critical to growing business. I am in my 'zone of genius' when I get to utilize that skill in my work.
I come from a family of entrepreneurs. I don’t own my own business, but I pride myself on working like I do. We don’t do 9-5 in our house. My husband owns his own business. My brother owns his own business. My father and my father-in-law owned their own business and neither retired until late into their 70s. We work nights and weekends and check email from bed.
I embrace being a part of an international community. I love to learn about new customs and traditions. I find it also helps me to learn more about my own customs and traditions. I think we should make a point to share our cultural uniqueness.
